Join writer and host Rick Steves as he experiences the local culture, cuisine, and fun in some of Europe’s most interesting places: Italy (Siena, Assisi, and Tuscany’s wine country); England (Cotswold villages, Wells, Stonehenge, and the southern coast); Germany (Dresden, Leipzig, Hamburg, Nürnberg, and Frankfurt); and some exotic eastern adventures in Bulgaria and Romania. In each episode, Rick explores the local culture, cuisine, and fun with local guides — all with an emphasis on inspiring and equipping American travelers to get out and experience these wonderful destinations on their own.

This season features the Austrian, Italian, Swiss, and French Alps (including hut-hiking around Mont Blanc) and sights that tell the story of fascism in Germany. This season also ventures beyond Europe, featuring two episodes on Egypt and one on Ethiopia. And, with the coronavirus pandemic causing all of us to reaffirm our values and priorities, we've produced a special retrospective episode called "Why We Travel."
